BACH: MATTHÄUS-PASSION, BWV 244

To celebrate the choir's tenth anniversary, on March 10, 2012, the Ottawa Bach Choir presents an authentic Baroque performance of Bach's Matthäus-Passion (St. Matthew Passion), BWV 244, under the direction of its Founder and Artistic Director, Lisette Canton. The OBC presents - in what promises to be the choral event of the year - the very work with which the OBC began, ten years to the day! Joining the choir will be an array of Canadian and international early music stars, including soprano Suzie LeBlanc, countertenor Daniel Taylor, tenor Charles Daniels, bass Stephan MacLeod, soprano Agnes Zsigovics, tenor Jacques-Olivier Chartier and bass-baritone Daniel Lichti, as well as the Ottawa Children's Choir and the Christ Church Cathedral Boys Choir. A world-class Baroque orchestra, led by British Baroque violinist, Adrian Butterfield, accompanies the choir, and a celebratory reception follows the performance.
