Le Chœur Bach d’Ottawa, fondé en février 2002 par Lisette Canton présente à ses auditoires un éventail de musique chorale d’une qualité exceptionnelle et d’une interprétation raffinée. L’ensemble explore les œuvres de toutes les périodes historiques de la musique, tout en réservant la place de premier choix à l’œuvre de Bach. Utilisant une approche rigoureuse et émotionnelle à la musique chorale, le chœur élargit toute la gamme artistique. Il a chanté abondamment au Canada et à l'étranger, et il a été acclamé tant au niveau national qu'au niveau international.

Ottawa (Canada) – The Ottawa Bach Choir (OBC) performs the final concert of its tenth anniversary subscription series, Song and Spirit, on Saturday, May 12, 2012, 8:00 pm at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, 130 Glebe Avenue. Under the direction of its Founder and Artistic Director, Lisette Canton, the OBC will present Baroque and Contemporary works by Bach, Monteverdi, Pachelbel, Purcell, Schütz, Nystedt, Pärt, and Whitacre; including a newly commissioned piece by Ottawa composer, Nicholas Piper. The OBC’s annual Silent Auction fundraiser will precede the concert, starting at 6:30 pm.

OTTAWA — A very full house, probably on the order of 900 listeners, greeted the Ottawa Bach Choir's presentation of Johann Sebastian Bach's St. Matthew Passion. True, some of the corner pews were occupied by members of the two youth choirs collaborating in the performance and no doubt proud relatives accounted for another portion of the audience.

But it's probably safe to say that most people came to hear what promised to be an outstanding performance of one of the greatest works of all music.

It's doubtful that any were disappointed.
